I could easily have had a go at breaking that coppers jaw with my back turned. Having done years of martial arts I know how easy it is to inflict injury on someone in that kids position before he is taken to the ground. Or do you take him to ground where you know you’ll have control and a much greater level of protection from someone who has already stated he will ‘crack your jaw’? As the person who has to arrest him, standing behind him and in close proximity, how long would you wrestle with him before you escalate things.ĭo you wait until he takes an elbow to your jaw to crack it as promised? As he tried to put the cuffs on the 6ft young man begins resisting by swinging his arms left to right etc. I think he did this in a calm and measured manner. he’s got no choice, he has to get close and physically touch this 6ft young man who just threatened to break his jaw to arrest him. In your mind you would have the thought this 6ft something young man just threatened to break my jaw, I think it would put extreme apprehension in anyone having to physically touch, let alone get close to that individual. He’s just committed an arrest-able offence and you need to enact your lawful duty. You have 6ft 16yr old threatening to ‘crack your jaw’.
